WHAT WE REBUILD

HOW OUR REBUILD SERVICE WORKS
Disassembly and Inspection
Complete teardown of all major components: compressor housing, turbine housing, CHRA, bearing systems, seals, and fasteners. Inspected for heat damage, worn bearings, cracked housings, oil contamination, and shaft play. You receive findings and a quote before any work continues.
Deep Cleaning and Surface Prep
High-pressure steam cleaning and ultrasonic degreasing on all components. Compressor and turbine housings fully sandblasted to bare metal, restoring them to like-new condition.
Precision Machining (When Needed)
If housings are warped or journal bores are worn beyond specification, we perform in-house machining to restore critical tolerances. Billet wheel fitment and housing modifications completed at this stage.
Assembly with OEM-Spec Parts
CHRA assembled with matched components: journal bearings, thrust kits, piston rings, oil seals, and fasteners. All parts meet or exceed OEM specifications. Torqued to spec and pre-oiled for startup protection.
CIMAT VSR Balancing
Every rebuilt turbo balanced on our in-house CIMAT VSR (Vibration Sorting Rig) machine, measuring vibration signatures across the full operating speed range. Corrects imbalance that causes noise, bearing wear, and early failure. VSR balance report included.
Final QC, Packaging, and Shipping
Leak testing, visual inspection, and actuator or wastegate function check. Once approved, packaged with installation notes, insured, and shipped back ready to install.

PERFORMANCE UPGRADE OPTIONS
Upgrading while your turbo is already apart costs significantly less than returning later for standalone work. Nothing is required, we simply walk through compatible options when we call with your rebuild price.
BILLET WHEEL UPGRADE
CNC-machined from solid aluminum. Stronger and more precisely manufactured than cast OEM wheels. Handles higher boost levels and elevated operating temperatures.
COMPRESSOR WHEEL SIZING
A larger compressor wheel increases airflow capacity for builds targeting higher power output. Sizing and housing compatibility confirmed during inspection.
CERAMIC COATED HOUSINGS
Applied to the turbine housing exterior. Reduces heat transfer to surrounding components, protects the housing surface, and extends service life in high-output applications.
12-MONTH, UNLIMITED MILEAGE WARRANTY
All rebuilt and remanufactured turbochargers carry a full 12-month, unlimited mileage warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty does not cover improper installation, oil contamination, lack of lubrication prior to startup, or racing use. If a failure occurs under warranty, contact us with your order number, we will repair or replace the unit.
New turbochargers carry the manufacturer's warranty. PT Turbo can assist with manufacturer warranty claims when needed.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Print and complete our Mail-In Rebuild Form and include it in the box with your turbocharger. Pack securely, drain oil if possible, and bag or wrap the turbo to contain residue. Ship to 346 S I St. STE #3, San Bernardino, CA 92410 via UPS, USPS, FedEx, or DHL. We inspect upon arrival and contact you with a rebuild price before any work begins.
Most rebuild jobs take 3-5 business days after inspection, your approval, and confirmation that the turbo is rebuildable. Complex units or those requiring specialty parts may take longer. Call us with your specific turbo model for an estimate.
Every rebuild includes a full teardown, ultrasonic cleaning and housing sandblasting, CHRA assembly with OEM-spec or better parts (journal bearings, seals, thrust kit, piston rings, fasteners), CIMAT VSR balancing, and final quality inspection. A VSR balance report is included.
We offer billet compressor wheel upgrades, compressor wheel size upgrades, and ceramic housing coating for compatible models. Options are discussed when we contact you with your rebuild quote after inspection.
All rebuilt and remanufactured turbos carry a 12-month, unlimited mileage warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty does not cover improper installation, contamination, or racing use. New turbos carry the manufacturer's warranty.
Both use your original housing with new internal components. A rebuilt turbo is restored to OEM performance specifications. A remanufactured turbo is built to a stricter process designed to meet or exceed factory specifications. PT Turbo performs both in-house.
