What the Garrett G35-1050 is

The G35-1050 is the larger G35 in Garrett’s G-Series, rated at 700 to 1,050 horsepower on engines of 2.0 to 5.5 liters, with a 68 / 84 mm, 65 trim compressor wheel in a 0.75 A/R housing, a 68 / 62 mm, 84 trim Mar-M turbine wheel and a maximum speed of 130,000 rpm. Garrett sells supercores (880695-5002S standard, 880696-5002S reverse) and complete standard-rotation turbos with an internally wastegated V-band housing (880707-5005S, 0.83 A/R; 880707-5006S, 1.01 A/R).

This page lists Garrett’s G35-1050 turbos in standard and reverse rotation with V-band housings from 0.61 to 1.21 A/R, the internally wastegated versions, versions with T3 open-inlet and divided T4 housings, and the CHRAs. Garrett’s own guidance on turbine housings: a smaller A/R gives quicker boost response and more turbine power at low engine speed; a larger A/R lets the wheel flow more, with lower back pressure and more power at high engine speed.
