PT Turbo lists 12 complete turbochargers, 1 supercore, 1 CHRA cartridge and 1 other part for the Garrett GT2860RS, with complete turbos from $1,175 to $1,995. Each listing is one exact part number, so match the number on your turbo’s data plate before ordering, or call (909) 824-1020 and we will match it for you.
The GT2860RS belongs to Garrett’s original GT Series of performance turbochargers: a ball-bearing turbo with a water-cooled center housing (CHRA), a 47 / 60 mm compressor wheel and a 54 / 47 mm, 76 trim turbine wheel, sold as a complete turbo with turbine housing and actuator. Garrett rates it at 250 to 360 horsepower on engines of 1.8 to 3.0 liters. It takes the same GT28 turbine kits as the GT2871R: T25 5-bolt wastegated housings in 0.64 and 0.86 A/R, or V-band free-float housings in 0.57 and 0.72 A/R.
Here you will find Garrett’s complete turbos (836026-5009S, -5013S with a 0.86 A/R housing, -5014S with 0.64 A/R), a partial turbo, the CHRA, versions with Audi K24/K26-flanged and Nissan RB20DET-style turbine housings, a bolt-in version for the Nissan Silvia S15 SR20DET, and bolt-on turbos for the Ford Focus ST 2.0L and Fiesta ST 1.6L EcoBoost. Garrett’s own guidance on turbine housings: a smaller A/R gives quicker boost response and more turbine power at low engine speed; a larger A/R lets the wheel flow more, with lower back pressure and more power at high engine speed.
