What the Garrett G25-660 is

The G25-660 is the larger of Garrett’s two G25 G-Series turbos, rated at 350 to 660 horsepower on engines of 1.4 to 3.0 liters, with a 54 / 67 mm, 65 trim compressor wheel in a 0.70 A/R housing, a 54 / 49 mm, 84 trim Mar-M turbine wheel and a maximum speed of 165,000 rpm. Garrett sells it as a supercore (858161-5003S standard, 871388-5002S reverse) or complete with an internally wastegated housing and a 0.5 bar actuator. Garrett’s G-Series II G25-700 is the newer turbo in this size.

This page lists Garrett’s complete standard and reverse rotation turbos with 0.72 and 0.92 A/R V-band housings, a version with a T3-inlet housing, the CHRAs and bolt-on kits for the Ford Focus ST 2.0L EcoBoost. Garrett’s own guidance on turbine housings: a smaller A/R gives quicker boost response and more turbine power at low engine speed; a larger A/R lets the wheel flow more, with lower back pressure and more power at high engine speed.
