What the Holset HX40 is
The HX40 is one of the first models of Holset’s HX range, which Holset began building in 1987 to replace its H Series. The plain HX40 numbers here are listed by Holset distributors as fixed-geometry turbos without an actuator (the wastegated version is the HX40W): for example 3535664H for the Cummins 6CT, 4033209H for 6CT-G2 generator sets and 4038429H for Komatsu bulldozers with the Cummins 6CTA; other HX40 numbers are listed for MAN engines.
This page lists complete HX40 turbos, CHRAs and an installation kit, each under its own part number; match the full number on your turbo’s tag.
