What the BorgWarner S300 is
The S300 is a BorgWarner (Schwitzer) turbo frame used as original equipment on medium-duty diesels. BorgWarner sells S300 replacement turbos for International DT466E engines, and S300 part numbers are listed for the Caterpillar 3126B, the Deutz BF8M1015CP and, in a variable geometry version with an electric actuator (S300VB131), the John Deere 6068H in 6530 to 7530 tractors.
The same frame carries BorgWarner’s AirWerks performance turbos (S300SX, SX-E and SX-R), which use twin hydrodynamic journal bearings; BorgWarner rates the S300SX3 at 320 to 800 hp and lists the S300G (174430) as an upgrade for the Cummins 5.9. The S300 listings here are replacement turbos and CHRAs, each under its own part number.
