PT Turbo lists 6 complete turbochargers, 1 supercore and 1 CHRA cartridge for the Garrett G42-1450, with complete turbos at $4,107. Each listing is one exact part number, so match the number on your turbo’s data plate before ordering, or call (909) 824-1020 and we will match it for you.
The G42-1450 is the larger G42 in Garrett’s G-Series, rated at 525 to 1,450 horsepower on engines of 2.0 to 8.0 liters, with a 79 / 98 mm compressor wheel, an 82 / 75 mm turbine wheel and a maximum speed of 114,000 rpm. Garrett sells it as a standard-rotation supercore (860778-5006S) with free-float stainless turbine housings, V-band or divided T4, in 1.01, 1.15 and 1.28 A/R. Garrett’s newer G-Series II turbo in this size is the G42-1585.
This page lists Garrett’s complete G42-1450 turbo assembly kits with V-band and divided T4 turbine housings in those three sizes, the supercore and the CHRA. Garrett’s own guidance on turbine housings: a smaller A/R gives quicker boost response and more turbine power at low engine speed; a larger A/R lets the wheel flow more, with lower back pressure and more power at high engine speed.
