About This Holset HE300VG Rebuild Kit (2019 and Newer)

In 2019, Cummins and Holset updated the HE300VG for the Ram 2500 and 3500 6.7L Cummins platform with revised internal geometry and a redesigned CHRA. The updated unit delivers improved VGT response and lower exhaust back pressure, but it also uses different internal bearing dimensions than the pre-2019 version. This rebuild kit is engineered specifically for 2019-and-newer HE300VG turbochargers and is not interchangeable with the earlier design.

Note: If your Ram is a 2018 or older model year, use the HE300VG 2018 and Earlier kit instead. If you are unsure of your specific build date, confirm your OEM part number before ordering.

Common 2019+ HE300VG Failure Signs

Oil seeping at the compressor or turbine outlet is often the first visible symptom of seal failure. Blue-grey exhaust smoke under boost or at startup confirms oil entering the intake or exhaust path. Shaft play greater than 0.003 inch axially or 0.010 inch radially indicates bearing replacement is overdue. This kit addresses all of these wear points with components machined to tighter-than-OEM surface finish tolerances.
