BorgWarner KP39 Turbochargers

What the BorgWarner KP39 is

The KP39 is a small BorgWarner (3K) turbo for passenger-car engines, built both with a wastegate and with variable turbine geometry. BorgWarner describes the pneumatically actuated KP39, with a water-cooled bearing housing, on BYD’s 1.5 liter direct-injection petrol engine (154 hp, from 2012), and its catalog lists 54399980144 for the Ford 1.6 EcoBoost (182 hp) and Volvo B4164T (180 hp) and a variable-geometry 54399880003 for the Skoda Fabia and Seat Ibiza 1.9 TDI (100 hp). Distributors list KP39 numbers as part of the two-stage turbo set of the 2008-on BMW 535d (M57 TU2).

This page lists complete KP39 turbos (54399880089, for the BMW 535d, among them) and a CHRA, mostly for BMW engines, with others for Mercedes-Benz. Each listing here is one exact part number, so match the full number on your turbo’s tag, or call (909) 824-1020 with your engine model and serial number.
