What the Holset HE551V is
The HE551V is a variable-geometry Holset turbo: Holset’s VGT uses a sliding nozzle ring whose vanes slide axially. Holset distributors list it for the 2005-2010 Cummins ISX and QSX15 (Signature) in Freightliner and other trucks (4043214 new, 2881993 remanufactured for 2007-2009 engines), where its actuator is air-operated, and for the Iveco Cursor 13 Euro 4 at 460 hp (3786506H, which one distributor also calls an HE500VG). The plain HE551 without the V is a different family.
